Botox for dynamic wrinkles and folds
Botox works differently than hyaluronic acid dermal fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane. This is because Botox is a medication that is injected into the muscles of the face and not into the skin. Botox works by reducing muscle contractions that form dynamic wrinkles. In doing so, it smooths the skin and helps patients restore a more youthful look with just a few injections in our office.
How is Botox used?
Botox is best utilized for the dynamic wrinkles on the face that are a result of muscle tension, including:
- Forehead folds and lines
- Lines between the eyebrows (known as glabellar lines)
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
What to expect
Botox injections are done quickly and easily at Thomas Wiener Plastic Surgery in Houston. Patients are evaluated to determine if Botox can help them achieve their aesthetic goals, and then injected into the areas necessary to achieve the desired results. With Botox injections, many patients will enjoy the changes for several months before they are required to undergo additional services to maintain the results. While we can’t stop the signs of aging, we can slow them with cosmetic injectables.
