Browlift Houston Texas
Browlift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is used to elevate sagging eyebrows and improve furrows across the forehead. As the brows descend with aging, excess skin is pushed toward the upper eyelids and this can obscure the definition of the upper eyelids and cause hooding over the eyes. A frequent complaint of someone that is interested in browlift is an angry appearance even when this is not the case.
Browlift is commonly done in conjunction with upper blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery. Both eyebrow sagging and skin excess of the upper eyelids often occur together, and correction is best done at the same time. The surgery can improve furrows of the forehead but will not correct fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peel or laser resurfacing can be used a few months later for fine lines or wrinkles.
There are two main techniques for browlift. There is the open technique or coronal browlift, and there is the endoscopic technique. The open technique uses a single incision that goes completely across the scalp well back of the hairline. The endoscopic technique typically uses three smaller incisions across the scalp. Although the endoscopic technique is perfectly acceptable, my preference is the open browlift, as I find the results are more consistent and longer lasting in my hands.
This type of plastic surgery is done as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. You will be at restricted activities for about four weeks after surgery.
Browlift can dramatically correct the problems that occur with sagging of the eyebrows and forehead. A more refreshed and less angry appearance can be revealed that can improve the impression that other people get, and improve your own feelings about an aging face.
